The youth ice fishing event hosted by the Friends of Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge on Feb. 5 drew in fishing-curious kids and their families to North Tamarac Lake to try and "hook" the children into the sport. The group provided fishing gear, mentors and buckets, and many of the kids left with "big smiles" and a few fish, according to a news release from the group.
